Econo Classic

Wooden A-Boards
A-board construction features and
benefits:
These A-boards are made with 5 ply ½ inch structural
grade double sided MDO. The wood is all Douglas Fir and
glued together with waterproof glue. They are sanded and
covered with a pre-primed Medium Density Overlay. This
results in a panel that resists warping, is very smooth,
and allows for very good adhesion and self adhesive
films.
Every A-board is cut on a CNC Router. This assures
that layouts with close tolerances will fit. All edges
are primed twice so water has less chance to be absorbed
by the wood, resulting in less swelling and warping. The
face that is to receive the graphics is machine sanded
after cutting and priming. The result is a very smooth
surface, allowing for excellent adhesion and good
looking graphics.

The edges are covered with UV stabilized T-molding.
The covering has a 5 year life expectancy. In addition
to providing protection of the edges the T-molding adds
an excellent finished look to the sign. Vinyl faced
A-board's arc coated with a five year gloss vinyl. The
vinyl is drawn over the edge of the MDO and tucked
into the T-mold groove. This helps to protect the edges
of the wood. The two sides are attached to each other with flexible
hinges. Most A-boards are placed on uneven surfaces,
flexible hinges give the A-board a greater ability to
sit solidly and not rock.
All four "legs" of the Aboard have custom extruded
rubber feet. This means the sign does not come in
contact with the ground. In addition they provide great
resistance to spreading, especially on smooth hard
surfaces. The feet are designed not to interfere with
the application of the graphics. |
